CHICAGO The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) returns to Weigel Broadcasting Co. in October 2026 with the Girls Flag Football Championships. For the third consecutive year, Weigel’s WCIU, The U in Chicago will air the growing sport’s semi-final and title games.
In addition, Weigel is again the producer of the statewide football and basketball championships. That includes the IHSA Football Playoff Pairings Show in October, select high school football playoff games, and the IHSA 1A through 8A Championships on Thanksgiving weekend.
In the spring, Weigel will produce the Girls and Boys IHSA Basketball Championships, totaling 27 playoff and title games in all.
Weigel has been the production partner to the IHSA since 2022 and broadcasts most games statewide through the IHSA Television Network to broadcast affiliates in all Illinois television markets.
